LASER HAIR REMOVAL FOR ALL SKIN TYPES

The Lightsheer™ laser for hair removal is a diode laser which is recognized as the "Gold Standard" in the industry. The Lightsheer™ system was specifically designed from the ground up for effective hair removal. Its patented chilltip technology provides continuous contact cooling of the epidermis for maximal patient safety and comfort. The Lightsheer is best for light to moderately pigmented skin.
The Coolglide™ is an Nd-Yag (1064nm) laser which is also a Gold Standard laser for ALL skin types. Although this laser is effective for all skin types, it has been awarded the best laser for darker skin types. The Coolglide™ bypasses the skin, in turn bypassing the pigment in the skin. Since this system targets only the melanin in the root of the hair and not the skin, this makes for effective treatment of darker skin types as well as for those who have tanned skin. The Coolglide™ also has a built in cooling system for maximum epidermis protection.
The Prowave 770™ is actually intense pulsed light, otherwise known as an IPL system. Unlike other IPL systems available, the Prowave 770™ has a programmable wavelength translating into rapid and safe treatment of larger areas. The Prowave 770™ also has a cooling mechanism which helps protect the skin with every pulse. The Prowave 770™ is also considered a “Gold Standard” in the industry. This hair removal system is also best for light to moderately pigmented skin.
PROCEDURE
Once you have taken the first step of booking a complimentary consultation, the laser technician will assess the area of concern, discuss all details of the treatment including expectations and pre-treatment protocols, while addressing any concerns and questions you may have. At this time a patch test on the desired area would be performed at the appropriate laser parameters.
Prior to treatment, all surface hair is removed by shaving or snipping to prevent any damage to the skin. The laser emits a near-infrared laser light that is absorbed by the pigment located in the hair follicle. The laser generates heat in the hair shaft, which diffuses to the stem cell and matrix targets to cause desired damage.
In addition to the treatment protocol, it is important to know the growth cycles of hair. Hair growth has three stages: Anagen (active stage), Catagen (regression) and Telogen (resting). In order to achieve permanent reduction, ideally the hair follicle should be infected by the laser during the anagen or active stage of hair growth. Since approximately 15-25% of hairs are in this active growing stage at the same time, 5-7 treatments are generally required for best results. Anything after 5 is considered maintenance which is 50% off.
